Teltonika Mobility, a leading manufacturer of IoT personal trackers, asset trackers and electric mobility trackers, announces that it had submitted an international patent application (PCT) in the World Intellectual Property Organization to protect its asset tracking solution.
The patent application (PCT/IB2021/057749) covers Teltonika‘s Asset Tracker (TAT100) product and the unique technological solution that tracks and keep safe valuable assets or vehicles. The tracking system and method stand for reliable operations both in open or enclosed spaces. Moreover, such a system does not require special infrastructure measures.
The patent-pending technological solution is distinct for its unique claim. The solution involves two devices, the main and backup trackers, communicating with each other via Bluetooth 2.4 GHz band. The key advantage of the solution is that it works as a secure and safe backup tracker, which periodically pings the master device over Bluetooth to check if it is still connected to the asset or vehicle. Upon detecting the disconnection of the master device, the backup tracker enters the emergency mode and starts working as a main autonomous tracker.
“We are feeling very positive regarding this patent application, whereas technology protection will create an advantage in the market, and create more value for our customers. In the future, we also plan to extend the patent application to others EPO countries (Germany, UK, Italy and France) and United States, Israel, China, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Mexico”, - commented Giedrius Žukauskas, Head of Research and Innovation Department at Teltonika Mobility.
